Vojko Kapš Accordion Tuning, Repair and Production

The tradition of Kapš accordion-making dates back to 1967 when Ivan Kapš started producing the instrument. It was his immense interest in the instrument that led him to choose the craft.

He graduated from the vocational school for instrument-making in Ljubljana and spent some years in the Melodija Mengeš instrument-making factory where he gained a wealth of knowledge and experience. He worked there mostly as a tuner of accordions. Because he wanted to make his own instruments, he decided to venture on his own independent path. This path was not easy at first, but nevertheless, his quality work led him to become established at home as well as abroad.

Vojko Kapš was captivated by profession from an early age. He completed the technical school for woodworking in Ljubljana and the seven-year music school for the piano accordion. After finishing hius schooling, he worked with his father and gained valuable experience in accordion-making. In 1995, he set up his own business and today he continues the family tradition of producing accordions.

His slogan "QUALITY THAT YOU CAN HEAR" applies especially when the accordion player needs a top-tuned recording instrument in the studio.

VOJKO KAPŠ also provides excellent servicing of accordions. Usually, he fixes the problem right away or in the shortest possible time.
